Cosmetic Surgical Procedures
Rhinoplasty
Commonly referred to as a “nose job”, a rhinoplasty is a surgery that restructures the nose for aesthetic purposes, to improve breathing, or both.
Blepharoplasty
A blepharoplasty is a surgical rejuvenating procedure that may be performed on the upper and/or lower eyelids. This is a preferred method for treating “droopy eyes” or “tired eyes”.
Otoplasty
An otoplasty procedure can be performed to treat protruding ears.
Hair Restoration
We partner with Follicles Hair Loss Clinic to provide premier hair restoration services. We use the Neograft technique to give the least-invasive follicular harvesting and implantation system with the best results.
Face/Neck Lift
A face or neck lift are procedures that removes sagged skin and shifts the features back up to their original position. These procedures serve to restore a more youthful appearance.
Brow Lift
A brow lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the forehead, the brow, and the area around the eyes. Aging typically causes the brows to shift down, and a brow lift may provide a refreshed appearance.
Cheek Augmentation
A cheek augmentation may be your next move if you are unsatisfied with the results of fillers alone. Cheek augmentation procedures entail adding clues to the cheek areas through the use of implants to improve facial contours.
Chin Augmentation
A chin augmentation procedure refines and improves the bone contour of the chin area through the use of a surgically fitted implant. This can help better define the jawline.
Scar Revision
Scar revision procedures can be performed to minimize a scar to be less conspicuous and blend in with the surrounding skin tone and texture.
Keloid
Keloids are benign, dermal growths related to previous skin trauma or inflammation. There are various techniques available to remove the keloid.
Restorative Surgical Procedures
Sinus Disease/Allergies
We all have sinuses that make mucus and drain naturally. Sometimes, there is a production of too much mucus, such as with allergies or recurrent infections, and the sinuses can’t drain adequately. Sinus surgery is used to open these tiny drainage pathways so that the sinuses can drain more efficiently to increase your quality of life.
Functional Nasal Surgery
There are a multitude of conditions that may necessitate functional nasal surgery, including a deviated septum, a collapsed nasal valve, oversized turbinates, reduced breathing functionality, and more. During this procedure, you have the opportunity to bring a more cosmetic element into the restoration and enhance the look and feel of your nose as well.
Post Skin Cancer Resection Restoration
Post-skin cancer resection restoration, also known as skin cancer reconstruction, is a type of plastic surgery that aims to restore the appearance and function of skin after skin cancer removal. The surgery can address scarring, disfigurement, and other irregularities left behind by the cancer. The techniques used depend on the location, size, and type of skin cancer, as well as the condition of the wound site.
Facial Paralysis
Typically, facial paralysis is caused by aggravation of the facial nerve whether through trauma, a tumor, inflammation, or a stroke. If your face has been paralyzed for more than 3 months, then you should see a specialist such as an otolaryngologist or facial plastic surgeon.
Facial Trauma
There are a variety of fractures that can occur in the face as a result of a traumatic experience. Our surgeons will work with you to rectify the facial trauma through a variety of procedural options.
Non-Surgical Procedures
Deep CO2RE Laser
CO2 — carbon dioxide — laser resurfacing uses targeted beams of light to remove the superficial layer of your skin. This laser treatment can remove skin cancer, address cosmetic skin issues, such as fine or deep lines, wrinkles, and acne scars, and treat areas of skin discoloration, like sunspots and age spots.
PRP Injections for Hair Loss
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections treat hair loss by using a patient's blood platelets to stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss. PRP injections may be especially effective for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA), also known as hormone-related baldness, which can affect both men and women.
Thread Lift
A thread lift is a minimally invasive, nonsurgical cosmetic procedure that uses temporary sutures to tighten and lift sagging skin on the face or neck. The procedure can also reduce the appearance of wrinkles and early jowls.

Cosmetic Surgery FAQs
-
The types of cosmetic changes that can be made to the nose are dependent on the patient’s nasal structure, facial features, skin type, and overall goals of the surgery. Typically, at the pre-operative consultation, standard photographs are taken of the patient and then these images can be morphed or changed by specialized imaging software. This can give the patient an idea of the changes that can be made!

A lot of factors can lead to looking “tired”. As we age, the skin of our upper and lower eyelid gets more wrinkles. In addition, sometimes our eyebrows can also drop a little bit which can lead to some hooding of skin as well as making our eyes look narrower.
There are a lot of methods to create a more refreshed look. Sometimes Botox to the corner of the eye and the outer portion of the eyebrow can reduce some of these fine lines and raise the brow. We can also sometimes use the laser to rejuvenate the skin of the lower eyelid. We can also sometimes use filler around the upper and lower eyelid to help the eyes look more youthful. Finally, surgery (i.e blepharoplasty) is sometimes needed to help rejuvenate the eyes.

Minoxidil was the first hair loss topical medication that was used and is still used with some limited benefit. The mode of action on hair follicles is still not well understood, but it is theorized to improve the vasculature to the hair follicle. There are multiple hair products including shampoos that might minimize hair loss but their success is unprove. Most of them work by removing sebum from the scalp.
In the adult male patient, finasteride can also be used to minimize hair loss and improve hair growth. This prescription medication probably holds the most promise if used early enough to prevent further hair loss. The medication works by decreasing the amount of DHT (dihydrotestosterone ). This leads to increasing hair growth and slowing hair loss. Hair growth on other parts the body are not seemingly affected.
Other newer less invasive treatments than surgery that can be used in men and women include low-level laser treatment and platelet rich plasma. Low-level laser treatment(LLLT) stimulates the base of the hair follicle energizing the follicle at the cellular level to restore hair.
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy for hair loss involves processing the patient’s own blood and reintroducing these active proteins into the patient’s scalp in the areas of hair loss. The concentrated platelets containing bioactive proteins, growth factors and the VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) to stimulate hair growth. To get maximum benefit the patient may require several treatments.

In reality, anyone after the age of 40 could benefit from a face lift, however most individuals don’t start looking at facelifts until their late 40s to early 50s. Early in the facial aging process, more non-invasive methods can help achieve some of the results of a facelift such as a cleaner jawline. However, with more sagging and the looser the supporting tissues of the face become, sometimes a facelift will achieve more lasting results than some of the more non-invasive methods and usually in a more cost-effective manner. Almost all individuals will look more youthful for their age indefinitely after a facelift.

The most common types of brow lift include the endoscopic brow lift, the pretrichial (in the hairline) brow lift and the direct brow lift. The endoscopic brow lift is a more minimally invasive technique as it utilizes 5 small incisions versus one large incision. The direct brow lift is an option for those with brow asymmetry or for those that have very deep forehead wrinkles. The best way to learn about the options is to meet with one of our practitioners!

The two ways that are commonly used to augment the cheek bones is through the use of a silicone implant or filler. There are certain types of filler that will add volume to the cheek area and can last up to 2 years.

This is purely personal preference, but people often choose a chin implant to help create a stronger jaw line or to provide more definition to the chin. Sometimes a weak chin (on profile view) can lead to an imbalanced appearance to the nose; a chin implant can thus be used to improve a rhinoplasty result. A chin implant can also be useful to help improve a face/neck lift result.
Restorative Surgery FAQs
-
Typical recovery is about one week; however, most patients do not have that much pain after surgery. Patients will have some nasal congestion after surgery especially since a dissolvable nasal dressing is used to help prevent scar formation. In order to speed up the recovery and healing process, it is imperative that patients use nasal saline irrigations starting on the first day after surgery.
-
The typical recovery time after nasal surgery is about 1 week. It is important to avoid any heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for this week to avoid a nose bleed. In addition, it is advisable to take off from school or work for a week as there is usually some pain after surgery and also possibly some bruising after surgery.
-
The nasal septum is in the middle of the nose and separates the left and right side of the nose like a wall. Occasionally, whether due to natural growth or trauma, the septum can be pushed to one side of the nose narrowing that side of the nose. This may cause nasal obstruction but doesn’t necessarily mean that it will cause trouble breathing. If you feel that you can’t breathe through your nose well AND you have a deviated nasal septum, you may benefit from correction of the septum. If you have a deviated septum, come see one of our nasal surgery experts today.

The most common type of skin cancer is basal cell carcinoma and the second most common type of skin is squamous cell carcinoma. Typically, for skin cancers of the face, we recommend having the excision done by a board-certified Mohs surgeon (who are fellowship trained dermatologists). Then after the skin cancer has been resected, we can help reconstruct the defect. We can even help coordinate the appointment with the Mohs surgeon along with the reconstruction to follow.
We also treat melanoma of the head and neck which is the third most common type of skin cancer. This type of cancer can be very aggressive and is not amenable to traditional Mohs surgery. The type of surgery required for melanoma can vary and depends on size and thickness of the tumor. Typically, the cancer resection and the reconstruction can be done at the same time.

As any reconstructed area heals, the resulting scar will continue to mature. We typically say to not judge the final result until at least 6 months after surgery as the scar will continue to become less and less noticeable. However, there are procedures that can be done to help with the scar like dermabrasion.

When facial paralysis occurs, it is important to note whether it is a complete loss of function or just a partial loss. It is also important to note the time frame of the facial paralysis. If there is a complete facial paralysis, it is important to get in to see a specialist within 1-2 weeks.
There are various treatment options for facial paralysis and some of them too complex to adequately describe in a short paragraph. The best way to discuss the options is to meet with your facial plastic surgeon so you can have an informative discussion.
