I have a prominent scar, can I do anything to make it better?

Sometimes scars can look wide, or they are oriented in the wrong direction, or they have too much pigment which can make them look unsightly.  Depending on the location there are a variety of techniques to help camouflage scars such as dermabrasion or laser resurfacing.

Is scar revision covered by insurance?

Typically, scar revision is not covered by insurance.  Sometimes if the scar is causing a functional problem, such as causing nasal obstruction, then scar revision may get covered by insurance.

How much does scar revision cost?

This is dependent on the length of the scar, location of the scar, and the technique utilized to the revise the scar.   A quote for the procedure will be provided after a consultation.

Can scar revision be performed in the office?

Scar revision can usually be performed under local anesthesia in the office.  It is rare that sedation would be needed for scar revision; however, scar revision in anyone under 18 may require sedation or potentially general anesthesia.
